VRfree® V2 Manual

VRfree® Version 2.0 System

The following guide and manual relates to the VRfree® Version 2.0 System, build 2020/21.
How do you know which version, which build you have?

Please have a look at the picture on the right.

If your wristmodule's dome has an "alien-head-like" shape and a USB-C socket right underneath its "dome", below the glove connector, then you have a version 2 VRfree® system. You can continue following the setup on this page.

If your wristmodule's dome has a "pyramidal" shape and a USB-C socket on the same side as the 4 power-indicating LEDs and is on a different side than your glove connector, then you have a version 1 VRfree® system. Please continue on this page: VRfree V1 Manual.

VRfree® system package contents:

  • 1 VRfree® headmodule, to be fastened to the headset or to a stationary position.
  • 2 VRfree® wristmodules, to be attached to the gloves and connected to the glove sensors plug
  • 2 VRfree® gloves
  • 3 NB-8L batteries, within the modules
  • 3 cables (below the interior carton): 1 long USB-C to USB-A for the headmodule, 1 short USB-C to USB-A cable for the wrist module, 1 short USB-C to USB-C cable to connect the headmodule to the HTC Vive/Vive Pro/Focus or the Oculus Quest.

Before you get started - charge batteries

When you receive the system, all batteries in the 3 modules (1 head-, 2 wrist-modules) are inserted upside down in their casings, so you need to remove them and re-insert them correctly as indicated in the picture on the right.

Make sure the 3 golden battery pins (connectors) are facing towards the 3 wristmodule buttons and towards the wristmodule dome just like in the picture to the right.

All 3 batteries are also empty ie discharged, so you need to first re-charge them before starting. To recharge all 3 modules, please connect each of them to one of the 3 cables and plug the other end into a standard USB-power source.
